E-BUSINESS SUPPORT NETWORK

Workshop on optimising the online environment for SMEs

Enterprise Europe, Brussels, 29 March 2004 – Intelligent use of information and communication technologies is key to improving the competitiveness of Europe’s enterprises. Those attending the Fifth e-Business Support Network (eBSN) workshop in Barcelona, Spain, on 13 May 2004, will look at ways of integrating e-business into business processes, especially through the management of organisational changes.

Europe has many policy initiatives helping SMEs to use e-business, among them excellent support mechanisms in several Member States and regions. But the challenge is for enterprises to manage the transition to full e-business integration, and for policy-makers to adapt their policies and instruments to the changing needs of these enterprises. The Barcelona workshop will focus on practical approaches to achieving e-business and managerial innovation.

The workshop is expected to attract a wide variety of small and medium-sized firms from the eBSN’s 130-plus members. This network focuses on the sharing of experience and good practices from all over Europe. Others attending the event include representatives of business associations involved in e-business and training as well as governmental experts in the field.

Participation in the workshop is open and free, but subject to pre-registration. You can register on-line at http://ebsn.copca.com.
